  • Cutting the Cord

It's about to happen at my house given the poor performance of UVerse that follows a poor performance by Charter. Still researching options, but I think Charter 60 mbps for internet service, Roku for sports, and Netflix/Amazon for movies. Playstation Vue sounds promising, too, but I can't seem to find anyone who has it for an assessment. Has else anyone taken the plunge here? If so, what are your likes/dislikes, what do I need to know, and what do I need to look out for?

I haven't done it but no several who have. Most are happy. I think Mr Pink started a similar conversation many moons ago. He might can give you some advice.

I'm gonna help you out here - BUT - you need to know that the info you are about to receive may cause ethical meltdowns:

      buy this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MX-4K-Androi...AAAOSwOtdYUQBV

You will never need anything else for entertainment (except maybe a passcode to someone's ESPN go)
The newest movies in High Def... shows... works great

I've watched movies that are currently in the theater with it - so yeah - definitely a moral dilemma

I tried cutting the cord a couple of years ago but ended up going back to cable. I had hulu, chrome stick, Amazon, and Netflix.

The main issue I had was not having a guide channel to flip through and not being able to watch live sports.

I've heard good things about the unlocked fire stick but haven't used one.

But if I get one of these, how are actors, directors and movie moguls supposed to influence politics with no movie or TV show royalties?

I've had it four years or more now, and love it.

I called my cable company yesterday to cut the cord. Was on hold for an hour and 20 minutes until I got to talk to someone. I'm going with Sling TV for now and my Apple TV. I have an antenna for networks stuff and Sling has everything else I need. Was going to just keep their Internet but was so pissed at the wait time I had just wasted, I cancelled it too and am going with a new provider.

Amazon Fire Stick with the Kodi app. and Exodus download. Gives you all the above, but no live TV.
