There have been reports of him having a better spring than Hurts.

Would that be "slot receiver" Hurts?

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been dealing with a hand injury all spring, but it appears the issue is worse than first thought.

Lord, let it be healed by fall practice.

I'm a little worried about how Tua's absence hampers the development of our secondary, where we are replacing just about everyone.

Hell, you could have a coach throwing the football and replicate the reps needed to develop a secondary. The few balls that Tua would throw in live, 1s vs 1s action that another qb couldn't replicate would be a mere drop in the bucket of the raging waterfall of reps a secondary would see. Probably less than 1% over a camp. A secondary develops through recognition and communication, and a individual player develops technique in individual period, neither of which requires an elite ball to be thrown. You read and call the formation and then pattern match. QB isn't really that important.
