If Bruce Pearl can be celebrated for his "class" in handling defeat, and N.C. can completely skate on academic fraud, then college basketball ethical considerations are zero.

Pearl did have to take a 3 or 4 year timeout.

Well, today is the final day of the basketball signing period, with the state's top in-state player still unsigned. Unfortunately, my guess is that he'll hitch his wagon to the Will Wade saga for whatever reason.

He's announcing Monday. I could have sworn I read that the signing period ended today.

CNO getting it done on the recruiting trail.

Villanova transfer and former five-star recruit Jahvon Quinerly verbally committed to Alabama on Sunday, he tells 247Sports.

“Coach Bryan [Hodgson} and coach [Nate] Oats recruited me the hardest as soon as I got my release from Villanova,” Quinerly said. “Bryan came and met my parents his first week on the job.”

“What they did at Buffalo is special and their offensive numbers and strategy are as good as anyone’s,” he added. “They were a top five to ten team in every offensive category. The ball moves, they get out in transition and they created a culture where guys are super unselfish and that’s something I wanted to be a part of.”

The guy says all the right things. I wonder what the basis for his hardship waiver application will be.

Don't know this player and waiting to see what this coach does. But he has made a positive impression on me so far.

I know we were all optimistic about CAJ, too. I think the college game was never something he could wrap his head around. But this guy seems to really know what he's doing, at least I hope so. The proof will be in the pudding.

Gotta like this guy. He looked like he was about to swing on that ref at the 1:00 mark until he realized it was a ref grabbing him.

Good interview. I had no idea his wife had cancer.
